First Response

The animation lined up with the music by styles, instruments and soloists. If there was a passage with more than one instrument there would be multiple shapes on the screen. The more instruments there were, the more crowded the visuals became. The visuals were in sync. The piano had multiple colors on a white background if the soloist had a fast-moving phrase. Glissandos and chromatics would cause the bright colored shapes on a white background. When the piano had slow-moving passages or less rhythmically challenging phrases solid bars would appear on a black background. Drum solos warranted shapes appearing on a black background. For every drum solo and triplet-like rhythm from the piano a shape would appear to crawl from the top of the screen to the bottom.
